I want present you this mod called DeFRaG for quake 3 arena.(I am sure some players know it already) It was initially designed for making possible a new kind of competition based on timed run in maps from an out-of-the-map-box original game,but in specially designed and customed DeFRaG maps(more than 5000 DeFRaG maps are available), and there are no opponents to be vanquished during the run/freestyle.(No frags then)
Each map requires a number of techniques to trick-jumping to reach the end of the map. The maps 'Training' focus on the perfection of a technique at a time, but the maps of the categories 'Run' and 'Level' use them almost all.>>>
Strafe-jump - appeared with Quake, this technique is the basis of most maps Defrag. Move to the sides and jump forward at the same time allows the player to earn the extra speed. This speed allows holes to jump higher.
Circle-jump - This technique involves taking a very fast start, turning in a half arc.
Rocket-jump - This is the most basic technique with a weapon, used in many other games. Take a rocket a split second after a jump propels the player into the air, and can reach places far greater and far with a simple jump. It is also possible to synchronize multiple rockets in order to achieve multi rocket jumps. The classic double or triple are the rocket jumps, often used in runs.(Possible with others weapons)
Overbounces - Overbounces The bug is a particular physical quake3 engine and their main effect of converting the vertical speed in opposite vertical velocity or horizontal speed (optional). There are different types of overbounces, but easier to experiment is one that is to reduce speed in x and y to 0 (by jumping into a corner for example).
